Developing viral approaches to effectively deliver exogenous genes to target neuronal populations. The goals are two-fold, first to use neuronal actuators to understand what function precise neuronal populations serve in different behaviors, most specifically related to eye movements. The second is to help build safety and efficacy data of viral vectors in premier animal models, setting the stage for clinical use.
